Amy Schumer Gets Detained While Protesting Against Brett Kavanaugh

With Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination speeding toward a Senate confirmation vote, demonstrators descended on Washington, D.C., to declare their urgent opposition to his bid.

MSNBC also aired similar footage, saying in a tweet that Schumer "was detained with other anti-Kavanaugh protesters at the Hart Senate Office Bldg. atrium on Capitol Hill".

In a video shared on Twitter, Amy said: "I think we're going to get arrested".

Anita Hill, a well known American attorney stood against Clarence Thomas, another Supreme Court nominee back in 1991 and accused him of sexual harassment.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, called Thursday for a vote to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court following the completion of the FBI investigation.

From comments like "put on a bra", surprisingly coming from a woman, and "Sorry I was focused on something else, can you say that again?".

Schumer and Ratajkowski met during the filming of "I Feel Pretty" and joined men and women at the Capitol to share their voice while Kavanaugh hearings took place.

Another social media source shows Schumer addressing the crowd while wearing a green button-down shirt that read, "This Today Then #ERA". Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on September 27 before Kavanaugh, who vehemently denied Ford's allegations.

Two other women have since come forward with alleged separate instances of sexual assault, both of which have been categorically denied by Kavanaugh.

Amy told the crowd: "That's what we're going to do: We're going to keep showing up and no matter how this goes, they can not keep us down".

During the protest, Amy Schumer was captured by MSNBC cameras among the women that were arrested as authorities removed the protesters one-by-one. "Let's fight. Let's keep showing up".
