Wolves Owner Glen Taylor Ready to Trade Jimmy Butler Himself if Necessary

Butler has been intrigued by the possibility of teaming with another star. A deal between Cleveland and Minnesota would be much more hard to figure out largely due to the number of bad contracts the Cavs have. But what is certain is he is eligible for a five-year, $190 million extension with the Wolves if he stays to the end of this season. If the Clips really are big game hunting for another big-time free agent next summer, adding one of them would simply be future investment in that plan; having Butler in tow will make getting the next star that much easier.

It had been a tumultuous team-up for Butler to say the least.

Towns' acceptance was delivered to the Timberwolves Saturday night.

Against the displeasure of Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations and coach Tom Thibodeau, owner Glen Taylor has mandated that a deal needs to be negotiated to trade disgruntled All-Star forward Jimmy Butler in the next several days, league sources told ESPN. Bell says that Stephen Jackson is not the fight that the Wiggins want to pick, and Kanell and Bell talk about possible trade destinations for Butler.

"He also wants to have influence". Earlier this offseason, it was rumored the guard could have interest in joining LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers.

With the nature of public trade demands, it is tough to sort out what is true. All three of those teams have the cap space to sign Butler next summer, though, which will make it more hard for Minnesota to get proper value back in a deal for the four-time all-star.

Twitter flips out after Maroon 5 announced as Super Bowl act
They have the star power and the musical power to be the big event the Super Bowl halftime show demands. Maroon 5 is set to headline the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime show, according to Variety .

They have no first-round pick that they can send, with there being so certainty they'll own the conditional 2019 first-round pick they sent to the Atlanta Hawks for Kyle Korver.

So, this was a no-brainer move for the T-Wolves, and they likely felt the urgency to get it done with the Butler saga going on.

Butler is eyeing the Knicks, Nets and Clippers.

The Cavs' only option would be to include Love in any trade conversations, with a roster full of rather unwanted contracts like J.R. Smith's and Tristan Thompson's.

But trading for Butler now does bring potential benefits to each, too.
