Apple unveils new Watch Series 4 with ECG sensor


The Apple Watch 4 now comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes with a biggers screen, epic new heart features, better battery life with Global Positioning System tracking and other important upgrades like the ability to take an ECG, which might just save your life.

Apple has made the screen bigger, pushing the glass display right to the edge, giving a 30 per cent larger display while the body of the watch is actually thinner that the series 3 Apple Watch. Apple Watch Series 4 also ships with a new user interface that has been optimised for the larger display. The new Apple Watch has an updated backside, too, allowing the device to transmit radio waves from the front and the back which should give you better cellular reception.

As for what's under the hood, the Series 4 is powered by a dual-core 64-bit S4 silicon chip, which Williams claimed will let it run two times faster than previous models.

Apple Watch Series 4 sports a new design, thanks to an edge-to-edge display and a new Digital Crown with haptics.

However, if Apple fans want the newest version of the product they can pre-order the Series 4 on Friday, September 14.

Apple Watch Series 4 with GPS will start at $399, while the GPS + Cellular configuration will be available starting from $499. Apple Watch now supports Electrocardiogram (ECG) for better heart rate monitoring. It takes 30 seconds, and then you get a heart rate analysis. The cellular version starts at $749.
