Olivia Newton-John disclosed yesterday that she's battling cancer for the third time.

Outside of her own battles with cancer, the disease has struck another member of her family: Her sister died six weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2013.

Among the stars who spoke about Newton-John on 7's Sunday Night programme were Sir Barry Gibb and Sir Cliff Richard.

She said, "I'm one of millions in this fight ... in this journey". I'd be lying if I said I never go there.

"There are moments, I'm human", she added. "If I allow myself to go there, I could easily create that, you know, big fear".

Olivia has since undergone radiation therapy to treat her latest tumour, while also relying on natural remedies, including medical marijuana grown by her husband John Easterling, to ease her pain.

She revealed in May 2017 that she was battling breast cancer that had metastasized to her sacrum.

"Olivia Newton-John's two upcoming speaking appearances in Australia were canceled due to scheduling conflicts with her upcoming promotional tour for her new book, "Don't Stop Believin" and the ONJ Cancer Wellness & Research Centre's Wellness Walk & Research Run", she said in a statement on social media.

Newton-John was one of the most successful vocalists of the 1970s, racking up country-pop and soft rock hits like "I Honestly Love You" and "Let Me Be There". I see it as part of my mission.

Opening up on their friendship and performing together, the star broke down in tears on camera and admitted: "When I look at her..."

The celeb was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time back in 1992 when she won the fight after a few months of chemotherapy and undergoing a partial mastectomy.

Newton-John made a decision to keep the cancer diagnosis private at the time. She's cut sugar out of her diet entirely, and is also taking cannabis oil for her pain. "They help with pain, they help with sleep". I have all the animals that I adore. "I'm doing really well".
