2018 iPhones could be the biggest smash hit since iPhone 6

However, the pricing on the OLED iPhones isn't likely to budge, with the 5.8-inch model likely to sell at US$999 and the 6.5 model likely to sell for even more.

Apple has got three new iPhones in the pipeline that feature the edge-to-edge design of last year's iPhone X, according to a Bloomberg report.

A recent Apple leak suggested the firm could cancel the iPhone X. Instead of seeking to add users, Apple apparently plans to slowly increase the average prices of its phones and boost income from accessory and digital services sales. The company's quarterly revenue was up 17.3% on a year-over-year basis. equities analysts predict that Apple Inc. will post 11.68 earnings per share for the current year. Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller declined to comment.

It seems Apple is just as confused as we are about what to call the new iPhones. "A 5.8" direct successor to the iPhone X (with a new chipset and camera system), a 6.5" larger / "Plus" version of that, and a 6.1" model that will be the cheapest of the bunch.

While it will be the biggest phone in the lineup, Apple is said to be mulling whether or not it should drop the "Plus" label for the 6.5-inch device, Bloomberg noted. The report confirmed that the company may launch dual-SIM variants of the larger iPhone in some markets.

A 6.5-inch iPhone, referred to internally as D33, will feature Apple's largest screen yet, as well as new features like the ability to view content in a side-by-side view. Foxconn, meanwhile, manufactures both OLED iPhones and won 30% of LCD iPhone orders, with the rest going to Pegatron.

Although all the phones will have edge-to-edge displays, like the iPhone X, only two will have OLED screens, Bloomberg reported Monday.

3D Touch has been a mainstay of the iPhone range ever since the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, allowing easy access to certain features of your apps from your home screen, but an analyst has claimed the feature will disappear in 2019. The two top end iPhone models should have enhanced cameras and speeds while the third will offer a more affordable option. Foxconn and Pegatron are sharing orders to assemble the new iPhones. Hon Hai began assembling the OLED devices in late July and only started on the LCD phones this month, partly due to minor challenges with the LCD panels, one person said.

The new iPhones expected in September will all take their design cues from the iPhone X. Based on intelligence from supply chain, analysts are confident that three new iPhone models will be launched, though an official announcement is awaited by Apple in early September.
