Meghan Markle celebrated her 37th birthday on Saturday, August 4, and the new Duchess of Sussex received plenty of well-wishes from friends and fans alike.

During a BBC interview a year ago, she made it clear her acting career was over as she looked forward to her Royal duties at Prince Harry's side.

The dress, which Cosmopolitan reports was a Club Monaco design, was paired with a Philip Treacy hat and Markle wore her hair in shiny, bouncy waves.

"Happy Birthday Meg! It would be so lovely and appropriate of you to send DAD a BELATED birthday card for his July 18 th @Kensingtonroyal Cheers!"

They shocked onlookers on their British Airways flight to Nice shortly before their wedding, with Meghan sat in the middle seat and Harry sporting a baseball cap.

Meghan and husband Prince Harry spent the day attending the wedding of Harry's old friend Charlie van Straubenzee, who married Daisy Jenks in Surrey, just outside of London.

The Duke of Sussex has assumed wedding duties once again - this time attending the nuptials of his childhood friend as best man.

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and her finance Jack Brooksbank, who are also due to marry at Windsor Castle this October, also attended the wedding festivities. And while Prince William will be back on royal duties on Wednesday, visiting Amiens city in France, his wife Kate, who is on maternity leave, is not expected to return to work until the autumn. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been regularly holidaying here since 2008, usually with Middleton's side of the family, and their most recent visit is no exception with Grandpa and Grandma Middleton accompanying the Cambridge family on their summer vacation, their first as a family of five.

The former Suits star is said to have "politely turned down" the invitation and that her decision was a "line in the sand" between her acting career and new life as a royal.
