Torreira will fly direct to London from Moscow after Uruguay were knocked out of the World Cup on Friday.

The BBC's David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal have agreed on a deal with Lucas Torreira over the player's transfer.

But the official confirmation of a transfer has been delayed by Torreira's global involvement with Uruguay in western Europe.

The 22-year-old was given an early release for his nation's summer exploits following their defeat to France at the quarter-final stage and made securing his long-term future at club level. "It's a big change [going to England] and we don't want to think about it yet because we're scared".

"It's hard to manage the language, to adapt to the society and customs and at the same time not lose ours. But there's a whole programme getting readied for Lucas", he noted this week.

Many , including professional athletes and the Republican governor of OH , were critical of Trump's statements. Saturday's statement would not be the first time the first lady illustrated her independence from her husband.

It is as good as a fact that Lucas will join Arsenal.

Now though, the player's father has confirmed that the Gunners are indeed on the brink of being able to conclude a deal to sign Torreira this summer.

"There are many clubs who contacted us but we have given our word to Arsenal and are very satisfied with what they offered".

As Arsenal's fourth summer signing, Torreira follows veteran Stephan Lichtsteiner, from Juventus on a free transfer, the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, a central defender bought from Borussia Dortmund.
