Motorola Reveals Moto Z3 with 5G Network Optional Mode

The good news is Motorola doesn't seem to be giving up on the Moto Z completely.

Motorola announced a 5G Moto Mod with the Moto Z3, which is going to give customers the ability to connect to 5G when Verizon gets 5G up and running.

The real magic will come in early 2019 when Motorola's 5G Moto Mod will be released. Along with the new phone, Motorola has launched a launched a 5G Moto Mod which is said to boost up network speeds by ten times. Of course, that did not happen. This means that the 17 already-available Moto Mods (which include stereo speakers, a projector, a 360-degree camera, a Polaroid-style printer and a gamepad, among others) will be compatible with the Moto Z3.

Motorola Moto Z3 specs and features: What does it do? The Moto Z3 will be priced at $20 a month for 24 months and will be exclusive to Verizon which will launch on the 16th of August.

Those on a budget (or Verizon Wireless) will want to consider Motorola's latest Moto Z3. And with Gorilla Glass 3, you're less likely to get scratches everywhere on the device, which is the case with Gorilla Glass 5. The phone will be available in ceramic black colour variant. That's because they must have the same overall shape so the Moto Mods can click on in the back. There is also 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage under-the-hood here. The Moto Z series flagship phone comes with support for proprietary Moto Mods and the company has announced 5G Moto Mods along with the phone. It uses a USB Type-C slow for charging. Instead, the fingerprint sensor is located on the right side of the device just beneath the volume rockers. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo.

The 5G Moto Mod will use Verizon's 28 GHz millimeter wave spectrum, and it carries a pair of Qualcomm modems (X50 5G NR modem and the X24 LTE-Advanced modem). The 5G Moto Mod has an in-built 2000 mAh battery.
