Celtics fan remembered at funeral by playing NBA2K in Kyrie jersey

Ball is life ... and the family of Renard Matthews used his love of the Celtics so others would remember him as they do.

The family also placed a video game controller in his hands, laid out a few of his favorite snacks and had a Celtics game playing on the TV in front of where the body was displayed.

Renard Matthews, who passed away at 17 years old, was a Celtics fan and enjoyed playing the National Basketball Association 2K video game.

Renard Matthews, who passed away two weeks ago, was a big Kyrie Irving fan. He wore a Kyrie Irving Boston Celtics jersey, sunglasses and a pair of Irving's socks.

Matthews would usually stay at home and only venture outside to walk the dog, his mother, Temeka Matthews, told WGNO-TV.

Renard Matthews, 18, was tragically killed after being shot in the head during a robbery in New Orleans, Louisiana back on June 25. His favorite snacks were positioned on a nearby table and the floor.

Matthews will be buried on Tuesday.

Family and friends gathered for Sunday's wake.
