We see this fight playing out very much like that with Cormier parrying Miocic's punches and keeping him at bay until he ultimately gets a takedown. Cormier and Lesnar are expected to battle for the UFC heavyweight title sometime before the year is out.
'I'm at a point now where it's going to be hard to fight a Curtis Blaydes or a contender at 205, ' Cormier said in the post-fight press conference.
"Now there's a guy who I've known for a long time", he began. Lesnar must be in the pool again for six months before he is allowed to compete again with UFC, so if he has indeed re-entered that testing pool again, his return to UFC is most certainly on.

One thing Cormier said did seem to catch Miocic's attention. The deal included Lesnar being allowed to fight in the UFC, which is something he insisted on if he were to re-sign with the pro wrestling giant. Both fighters were covered in Felder's blood by the final bell.
