A day after the PDP-BJP government collapsed after the BJP snapped its three-year-old alliance with the regional party citing "larger national interest" and "deteriorating security situation", a Union Home Ministry spokesman said in the morning that President Ram Nath Kovind has approved imposition of Governor's rule in the border state with immediate effect. A former Congress leader, the veteran politician had been a proponent of "healing touch" to the people of the Valley, what with his party driven by the idea of self-rule and not autonomy.
Though the BJP took the first step of breaking away from the alliance, it may have ill-conceived that this unilateral step will prove beneficial to them.
The party will not leave any stones unturned in sending out a message that the BJP took the people of the state for granted and that it failed to observe "coalition dharma".
Hours later, state chief minister and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti submitted her resignation.
In neighbouring Anantnag, where Mehbooba was elected in 2016 with a margin of more than 12,000 votes, the mood is not any different and there is only visible resentment among PDP workers. Then we saw a phase of suspension of operations because we wanted people to get a chance to offer their prayers during Ramzan without any kind of problem.
Blatter says England should host World Cup
The ban does not prevent the former Federation Internationale de Football Association president from attending matches. When asked how if he was banned he could attend the World Cup the former chief quickly responded.
"Our party was ditched by BJP.For the time being it is a setback for us, but we will return with more power. Though going with BJP cost us many workers".
This comes after the BJP pulled out of its alliance with PDP in the state on June 19, 2018. He will address a meeting from the very place from where the Praja Parishad started its agitation against Kashmir hegemony and for "full integration" of J&K with India. "These killings developed a trust deficit and alienation not only among the youth but even older people".
"In the four districts of south Kashmir - Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam - the youth were pushed to the wall and they took to militancy as a last resort".
He said that the recent United Nations report on rights abuse in held Kashmir "reaffirms Pakistan's well-known position on the grave human rights abuses committed by India", read a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
But in the three and half years of the rule, there has been perpetual sparring between PDP and BJP over several issues. We had only two options - either form a coalition government or go for another election.
