Technically, she's right that there was no hidden message - it was painted, unmistakably, on the jacket's exterior.

Just a few hours later, Donald Trump took to Twitter to reveal the hidden meaning behind Melania's jacket.

When asked what message the first lady's jacket intends to send, spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said: "It's a jacket". She is aware of the message she is sending, which is typically one of aspirational luxury.

Her trip to Texas was the most high profile public appearance Mrs Trump had made since undergoing a surgical procedure for a benign kidney condition on May 14.

It is, however, unusual for Melania Trump to wear low-priced clothes when on public business.
