Donald Trump is preparing for the United States to leave the U.N. Human Rights Council.
The U.S. Dept. of State on Tuesday is expected to announce it is withdrawing from the United Nation's Human Rights Council.
USA withdrawal from the council follows efforts by Haley and the U.S. delegation to implement reforms, including more stringent membership criteria and the ability to remove members with egregious human rights records.

The Obama administration sought a seat only in 2009 in an effort to showcase how human rights were an important aspect of USA foreign policy.
The U.S. has always been believed to be preparing to leave the UNHRC over what administration officials say is unfair treatment of Israel, but the expected announcement will come a day after its chief called the Trump administration's family separation policy "unconscionable".
A key question will be where a USA pullout would leave Israel if its biggest and most powerful defender abandons its voting rights or drops out of the council altogether.
The Trump administration is set to announce Tuesday its departure from the United Nations' main human rights body in its latest withdrawal from an worldwide institution. After a year off, Washington was re-elected in 2016 for its current third term.
Other U.S. allies have found it hard to stick with the Trump administration's approach to the United Nations, as countries like the U.K. and France expressed skepticism about the violence on Israel's border last month. In that situation, the USA would be able to speak out on rights abuses, but not to vote.
