LeBron not claiming 'mental edge' over Raptors despite stunning game two display

They force-fed Love in the first quarter Thursday.

Raptors: Lowry made his first six shot attempts. Didn't matter. That missed running layup a minute later? Meh. He has the most 30-point, 10-assist games in playoff history, passing Michael Jordan. He was 3-for-5 in the second with four boards.

It wasn't just the otherworldly shot-making from LeBron James, though that was part of it.

This spot is usually reserved for the Cavaliers' third quarter. Five were scored by Love.

"Kevin Love was phenomenal, gave us a double-double", LeBron said. James was 19-28 from the floor for 43 points, dishing 14 assists and grabbing 8 rebounds.

According to Odds Shark, a sports betting information website, National Basketball Association teams that fall behind 0-2 in a seven-game series are 19-273 all-time.

Toronto played well for most of the first half, building a nine-point lead just inside the 5-minute mark. But Lowry was in foul trouble early in the third quarter and the Raptors' 11 turnovers, leading to 13 Cavs' points were costly - especially in comparison to Cleveland's three turnovers.

Or maybe Drake sensed early that there was a pointlessness to the whole night.

This series is far from over, but the Raptors have to figure things out on the road in Cleveland.

Simmons' Sixers bounced by Baynes' Celtics
But as great as LeBron is, I'm not sure that him going to that team really helps Simmons become the player the really needs to be. Brett Brown and his troops must commit themselves to each other on the defensive side of the floor.

Love, ever the pragmatist, did not assign any greater meaning to his Game 2 perfromance.

James has always said that he's from Akron, Ohio, but in the Eastern Conference playoffs, his residence mine as well be considered inside the heads of each and every Raptor, at least every April. We've seen this one before. Maybe the Pacers lucked out because Hill and Love weren't healthy and coach Tyronn Lue hadn't quite figured out who he could rely on. "Big guys, it takes them a little bit longer to grow and get that skill set".

Please keep Kyle Lowry in your thoughts in these hard times.

"The way we played tonight is not us", Casey said. He demanded the ball. "He worked well off the ball, I was able to hit him for a couple slashes to the rim, he was able to dunk one". He wasn't settling. It allowed us to continue to feature him and continue to go to him.

Both the Cavaliers and the Raptors had no problem scoring points in game two.

"We know what they're capable of, Kev or CB, two (perennial) All-Stars, two of the best power forwards I've played with obviously", James said. Everybody seems to like everybody in this group: the players, the staff, the city. The next time he elbows DeMar Derozan or another Raptors player, he may face ejection.

But Air Canada Centre sure sounded last night like a place that started to turn on them.

According to ESPN Stats he made seven fadeaway jumpers to tie Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson (2015) for the record in a playoff game since the data became available in 2001-02.
