Jason Witten to Retire From Dallas Cowboys

Witten met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Friday to discuss his dilemma. Jones said he had several conversations with Witten this week and indicated the franchise leader in games, catches and yards receiving hadn't made a final decision. "He also told me those things are going to require a few more days of consideration, at least through the weekend". Witten turns 36 early next month. His former teammate, Romo, retired at the end of 2016 to become the lead football analyst on CBS.

An eight-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro, Gates is the Chargers' all-time leader in receptions (927), receiving yards (11,508) and touchdowns (114), with his touchdown total an National Football League record for tight ends. Now the question is whether they will take a tight end with Jason Witten considering retirement after 15 seasons to go into broadcasting.

Witten, who played collegiately at Tennessee, was drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2003 draft.

For Witten, he should start getting his Hall of Fame speech ready.

The duo has linked for 1,398 yards and 11 touchdowns on 132 catches in 2017 together.
