Speaking ahead of the first leg of Arsenal's Europa League semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid, he told reporters: "I wish that all goes well [for the new man]", he said.

Costa was a thorn in Wenger's side throughout his time at Chelsea, scoring three goals in his six appearances against the Gunners and getting under their skin like few others.

"I've already spoken to Vic, he knows".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger courted headlines after the Gunners win over West Ham when he said the lack of unity among fans in recent seasons has been "hurtful" to the club.

The coalition said another missile crashed in a Saudi desert on Sunday, without specifying a location, adding it caused no damage. Hospital chief Mohammed al-Sawmali says the groom and 45 wounded guests were brought to the local al-Jomhouri Hospital.

"I am happy now we can all talk about his legacy and let's not forget that we still have to win the Europa League", said Arsenal's all-time top goalscorer Thierry Henry on the day Wenger announced his departure.

Wenger said he would have no say as to who succeeds him but spoke highly of former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique. "At the moment I'm just focused on that".

"He manages the speed of transitions at Arsenal - if he wants his team to play quickly he will get them playing quickly.
