Ozzie Newsome Announces The Ravens Have Signed Robert Griffin III

Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome confirmed today that Griffin worked out in Baltimore, impressed the team, and is ready to become a Raven.

The addition of Griffin doesn't preclude the Ravens from selecting a quarterback in this month's draft. "He will probably be here early next week to sign the deal", Newsome said.

The Heisman Trophy victor remained a free agent after the Browns released him in March 2017, but his return to the league was announced by the Ravens on Wednesday.

Griffin last played in 2016 but lasted only five games with the Cleveland Browns before injuries set him back. "I'm really feeling like we got a steal". He won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year over top pick Andrew Luck by throwing 20 touchdown passes against just five interceptions.

Suspect in Hopkinsville officer's death killed by Police
State police said in a news release the off-duty Hopkinsville officer was shot at about 5:10 p.m. An account has been set up to raise funds for the family of a fallen Kentucky police officer.

"I'm very excited about it, the coaches are excited about it", Head Coach John Harbaugh said. Obviously, his personality, he's a confident guy.

Griffin is looking to resurrect his injury-plagued career after being out of the league all last season, and Baltimore will give him the chance.

Griffin is now the third quarterback on the roster. The QB completed 72.5 percent of his passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, his best game of that season. He spent three more seasons with the Redskins as the team slowly integrated Kirk Cousins into the starting role.

Following an offseason workout with the Browns, after which Hue Jackson famously said he felt the earth move under his feet, RGIII signed a two-year deal in Cleveland. "It makes us a better football team".
