Trump to Host Japanese Prime Minister at Mar-a-Lago Resort

Trump and Abe will meet in Palm Beach, Fla., from April 17-18 to address trade negotiations and relations with North Korea, including Trump's possible future meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

"The two leaders will discuss the worldwide campaign to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea in advance of President Trump's planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un", the White House said.

Trump also hosted Abe at Mar-a-Lago in February of a year ago; the president visited Abe in Japan in November. It is Abe's second visit to Trump's Florida estate.

The US state department Monday said that Alice Wells, the US diplomat for South Asia, and Susan Thornton, the state department official in-charge of the East Asia and Pacific affairs, will lead the delegation traveling to India.

In Case You Forgot, Trump Still Hates Amazon
Like other major publications , Trump has said the Washington Post publishes "fake news" in order to hurt his presidency. Because Amazon ships so many packages though the post office, it pays a lower rate than most customers.

If Trump raises the issue of a free trade agreement between Japan and the United States, Abe might be pressured to make concessions, Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported. The North allowed five of them to visit Japan later that year - and they stayed - but said the other eight had died, though their families say what the North said can not be trusted. "And the smile is, "I can't believe we've been able to take advantage of the United States for so long" So those days are over", Trump said last month as he imposed tariffs on China.

The president previously hosted Abe at Mar-a-Lago in February of 2017.

This is not the first time that President Trump has used his golfing estate to host global diplomats.

"When you play golf not just once but two times, the person must be your favorite guy", Abe said as he toasted Trump during a state banquet in Japan.
