ESPN's New Streaming Service To Be $4.99 A Month


The monthly subscription fee will be $4.99. "ESPN3 will still have thousands of live events and, while some content will shift to ESPN+, we will actively program live events across both platforms".

Other than what has been released in the link above, we don't know much more regarding boxing and college wrestling on the ESPN+ streaming service but as fans of the sports we can get excited for more coverage than we get now.

While you may not be a sports fan, Disney Media Networks' plans for ESPN+ may have bigger implications for you down the line.

ESPN+ will be an integrated part of a completely redesigned and reimagined ESPN App that will be the premier all-in-one digital sports platform for fans.

That's great news if you're a fan of, say, the Chicago Fire (especially since ESPN+ will apparently be the local market home for 27 Fire matches in Chicago), but probably not enough to make you want to chuck your cable subscription.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more information on ESPN Plus as the service goes live on April 12th. If the game isn't on cable, then it will have to be streamed on ESPN+.
