Cops arrest 2 school teachers, tutor for leaking CBSE paper


The government has alerted the students that the Hindi elective paper for class 12 that is being circulated as a leaked paper for the exam scheduled for tomorrow is nothing but the hindi compartment paper of 2017.

"Consequent to the arrest of two teachers from Mother Khajani Convent School, Mungeshpur, Delhi, and coaching institute tutor, Tauquir by Delhi Police, for colluding to leak the Class 12 economics paper and probe done by CBSE, a CBSE personnel, KS Rana, found lax in supervision", he wrote. The first case, related to the leak of economics paper was lodged on March 27, while the other pertaining to the leak of mathematics paper was lodged on March 28, following a complaint by the CBSE's regional director. A police officer said they had got a reply from the online search engine but refused to divulge further details. One of them runs a coaching centre in the national capital.

The Crime Branch has questioned over 60 people in connection with the CBSE paper leak case, including the administrators of over ten WhatsApp groups on which the leaked question papers were shared. The student and his father are also being questioned.

Delhi Police Joint CP Crime Branch briefed the media and confirmed that the three accused - two teachers and a tutor - who were earlier detained, have been arrested. Secretary Human Resources Development Anil Swarup said this in a tweet. Police are analysing these complaints to ascertain whether they were acts of mischief or was there any truth to them.

However, it was not yet clear if they were also involved in leaking the Class X Mathematics paper.

Special Investigation Team (SIT), comprising two deputy commissioners of police, four assistant commissioners of police and five inspectors, has been strengthened with the addition of two more assistant commissioners of police and their teams.
