Jose Mourinho Scorches Frank De Boer Over Rashford Comments

Jose Mourinho has mocked Frank de Boer as "the worst manager in the history of the Premier League" after the former Crystal Palace boss questioned his handling of Marcus Rashford.

"He has won many trophies and tactically he is very good at disrupting the opponent's game".

Marcus Rashford made quite an impact on his return to Manchester United's starting line-up.

De Boer boss has been highly critical over Mourinho's management of Rashford and the Portuguese boss let him know how he felt during the pre-match press conference.

Rashford started and scored both of his side's goals in United's 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday but De Boer claimed that it is a "pity" that the young forward is going through his formative footballing years under Mourinho.

Redknapp believes Rashford is a shoo-in to start for the Three Lions in this summer's World Cup campaign, and that he should be using Mourinho's trust in him in order to kick on as a player.

If he was coached by Frank, he would learn how to lose because he lost every game. I try to give the best to the kids, education. De Boer is a protege of Mourinho's predecessor and ally turned enemy, Louis van Gaal, and while Mourinho gave credit to the older man for initially selecting Rashford, the days when they worked together at Barcelona seem distant indeed. You want to see this player every week.

Manchester City's crown jewel is England U-17 World Cup victor, Phil Foden, who has been praised by Guardiola and is destined for big things, but the Englishman is just 17 and has several world-class players ahead of him in the pecking order, which means that he will have to wait for a chance in the first-team. He was Mourinho's most used player in 2017, with 61 appearances for United in all competitions.

The 20-year-old netted twice against rivals Liverpool on Saturday to ensure that the Red Devils finished the weekend in second-place.

"Mourinho will point to the fact that United are rebuilding but, in terms of the way they play, you can not say that any real progress has been made".

"I have a lot of respect for Mourinho".

"But the philosophy of Mourinho and Manchester United is different".

Lingard, meanwhile, has shown that he can be an integral part of the United first-team and has bagged goals in crucial games.
