Apple Announces Date for Worldwide Developers Conference 2018

The developer conference is schedule for June 4th through 8th, and like previous year, it will take place in San Jose's McEnery Convention Center.

Apple has announced the dates for its annual developer conference, WWDC.

As for what to expect from Apple at WWDC? To qualify for the ticket lottery, you must be a member of the Apple Developer Program or Apple Developer Enterprise Program as of this morning.

The conference will be held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. Developers can register starting on March 22 at 10 a.m. and will be randomly selected. Tickets are limited, and expensive: one will set you back $1,599.

However, Ryan Seacrest , who has been hosting the show since its start in 2002, will return for the new season as well. In the season premiere, viewers will watch music hopefuls from cities around the USA try out for the show.

Occasionally the company also uses the event to announce hardware products. As always, developers who aren't chosen and consumers will be able to livestream the event online.

This year, rumors suggest that we could see a lower-cost MacBook or MacBook Air device, as well as a lineup of refreshed iPad Pro models - likely with Face ID and other iPhone X-style features and upgrades.

The specifics of updates to either platform aren't known at the moment, but we'll find out more when Apple tells all this May.

The opportunity to buy tickets to WWDC18 is offered by random selection. Scholarship submissions open March 26; details on how to apply are available on the WWDC website.
