Clairemont native, actor Mark Hamill getting star on Hollywood 'Walk of Fame'

The force was with Mark Hamill on Thursday when the "Star Wars" actor received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hamill, 66, has a handful of other memorable roles under his belt, but none came close to his fame as the beloved Luke Skywalker in Star Wars.

Hamill, also a social media Jedi Knight with millions of followers across his platforms, responded to the distressed mother. But it was the loss of Carrie Fisher that led him to reflect on a bittersweet moment amid the celebration.

On Wednesday night, Hamill appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live appearing to destroy the talk show host's star in order to make room for his own. "He is extremely enthusiastic about everything that he does, and that's exactly what I was looking for when I was looking for Luke Skywalker".

Hamill took to the podium at the end of the ceremony, joking that he hadn't "been this speechless since Force Awakens". "If it weren't for the genius of George Lucas, I wouldn't be standing here today..."

"If it weren't for the public", Hamill told the audience, "I'd be nowhere".

"You are with me through thick and thin and the highs and the lows and everywhere in between", Hamill says.

"He has been the master of his own experience, his own life", said Ford, adding he prepared himself for the Walk of Fame presentation by visiting the past. He is also well-known for his prolific voice-acting career, having played the Joker on Batman: The Animated Series.

I feel like that should have cheered us all up but it just made me more emotional.

He is also believes that Prince Charles will never wear the crown and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have a fourth child. But on the small screen she's been a key part of helping to make Suits a big success and the show gave her her big break.
