Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro With Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Launched In India


The Mi TV 4 also hooks into OTT service providers like Hotstar, Voot, Sony LIV, Hungama Play, and ALTBalaji, and while Prime Video isn't available just yet, Xiaomi says that the streaming service should be live on the platform in a few weeks' time.

Interestingly, the company now launched the 55-inch premium Mi LED Smart TV 4 alongside the Red Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones.

Additionally, Xiaomi also unveiled the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It sports a 5.99-inch full-HD (1080x2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 450-nit brightness, 84 percent NTSC colour gamut, and 2.5D curved glass. It is the thinnest Redmi Note device ever launched with an 8.05 mm thickness. The smartphone boasts of a more appealing design, an enhanced processor efficiency and better camera capabilities as compared to the Redmi Note 5. It has the same display and 18:9 aspect ratio like the Redmi Note 5. It will be available in Rose Gold, Gold, Blue and Black color variants. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. The smartphone is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while there is another variant that comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage option.

For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a 12MP primary camera with 1.25-micron pixel, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash module.

The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with Adreno 509 GPU. In a move that will garner a lot of eyeballs, Xiaomi has gone for a vertically placed dual-camera setup which is positioned uncannily similar to the iPhone X. Even the LED flash is placed between the two sensors, like the iPhone X. The smartphone will click portrait mode photos from the front and rear cameras.

The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery with fast charging.

For selfies, there's a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with Beautify 4.0 AI algorithm, and selfie light for low-light conditions. The connectivity features available on the Redmi Note 5 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes in a single storage variant - 64GB - which is expandable via microSD card in a hybrid dual-SIM format.
