Toys 'R' Us Going-Out-Of-Business Sales Could Start Today

The well-known toy store chained had filed a motion last month to close up to 182 or one-fifth of its 880 stores, the Bergen County Record reported.

The Toys R Us locations in St. Matthews and the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville are among the stores that will be closing.

The retailer's CEO David Brandon announced last month that the company would be shuttering 20 percent of its USA stores, stores after filing for bankruptcy - with a total of around 180 Toys "R" Us and "Babies "R" Us locations on the chopping block".

Senate Leadership Close to Long-Term Budget Deal
House Speaker Paul Ryan said with this agreement they are breaking the logjam on a number of priorities for the American people. Some House members are wary of the early details of the Senate deal .

Near Sacramento, a Toys "R" Us in Yuba City and a Babies "R" Us in Folsom are scheduled to go out of business, as well as a handful in San Jose and the Bay Area. Toys "R" Us says it expects the closings to be complete by mid-April. That list, though, was brought down to just 16 percent of its stores. Liquidation sales for those locations begin Wednesday.

"The reinvention of our brand requires that me make some tough decisions about our priority and focus", Dave Brandon, chief executive officer and chairman, said in a Toys R Us statement. LEGO also announced it was having trouble with sales and cut 1,400 jobs.
