Apple may offer refund for iPhone customers who replaced battery

Apple has seeded a new beta version of iOS 11.3 to developers, which includes the new battery health feature. When new, the battery on the iPhone can easily reach standard peak performance levels, as noted by Apple in the Battery Health menu.

Apple is exploring the possibility of offering rebates to customer that purchased full-priced iPhone batteries, following the controversy surrounding the company slowing down older iPhones in order to maintain stability.

To access the settings, you need to navigate to Settings Battery Battery Health (Beta).

Apple began its performance management practice when it released iOS 10.2.1 a year ago to stop the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone SE from shutting down from troubling power circumstances like cold weather, low battery charge, or battery aging. This feature is enabled only after an unexpected shutdown first occurs on a device with a battery that has diminished ability to deliver maximum instantaneous power. The only way to completely get rid of unexpected shutdowns is to replace the iPhone battery.

With the release of iOS 11.3 Beta 2, we're going to see the battery health tool. With it, users can view their iPhone's battery health via a percentage that shows the battery capacity remaining relative to when it was brand new. As users continue to use their phone and batteries age, this number drops.

Nintendo President Teases Upcoming Switch Games
A recent earnings report listed Pokemon for Nintendo Switch launching in 2018 or later, meaning that it hasn't been ruled out yet. This forecast with Nintendo's previous forecast and Nintendo expects the console to sell around 37 Million Units by April 2019.

Thune said in a statement after sharing Apple's letter that he appreciated the company's response and acknowledgment that it did not handle the situation as well as it could have. If the battery is working fine, this section will simply say that it's now supporting normal peak performance. This comes after Apple had admitted to managing the performance of its older iPhones to prevent sudden shutdowns. Performance management has been applied to help prevent this from happening again. If so, Thune also wanted to know "what notice" Apple plans to provide to customers beforehand.

Battery health unknown: "This iPhone is unable to determine battery health".

Wright Investors Service Inc. lifted its holdings in Apple Inc. This might just be the right decision on Apple's part, given the recent history of many minor and major bugs showing up in iOS and macOS.

It's all down to the battery degrading over the phone's lifespan, making power management more unstable and potentially causing unexpected shutdowns.

Battery health degraded: "Your battery's health is significantly degraded". Apple is now offering $29 battery replacements for the iPhone 6 and newer until the end of 2018. To download iOS 11.3 Beta 2, got to the "Settings" app, search for "General" and tap on "Software Update". This was later fixed in the iOS 11.1.2 update.
