Sea of Thieves announces closed Beta January 24-29

As far as access goes, anyone that signed up for the Sea of Thieves Insider Program before December 1 and anyone that pre-orders will be able to participate.

It was announced today the closed beta for Sea of Thieves would kick off on January 24 and run through January 29.

Each limited edition "Sea of Thieves" Xbox wireless controller costs $75 and also comes with an in-game bonus for the upcoming game.

A closed beta has been scheduled for Sea of Thieves that gives more players a chance to try the pirate-filled game before it launches in March.

Gas prices increase over last week
West Texas Intermediate crude settled at a four-year high above $62 a barrel last week as global supply levels tightened. In the Wenatchee area, gas prices were relatively steady, holding on at $2.82 per gallon.

Good news for content creators: The closed beta is not covered by an NDA. Information on downloading the beta client can be found on the game's FAQ.

Featuring a "translucent design" and "laser-etched barnacles", the controller also has its own hidden treasure in the form of one single golden trigger (it's the right trigger, if you're wondering) as well as a nautical design on the rear of the controller.

While players won't be testing the full game during the testing phase, Rare has "crafted a bespoke experience", which will offer testers a "true taste of what Sea of Thieve has to offer". Once you've done that, the beta will then likewise appear in your library the day before it starts.
