Chiefs rumors: Eric Bieniemy could be a favorite to replace Matt Nagy

He spent the 2012 season as the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator before joining the Chiefs in 2013 as a spread game analyst. The Bears met with Nagy on Sunday and wasted little time hiring him. Since he began working with Alex Smith in Kansas City, Smith has been a Pro Bowler twice and helped the Chiefs reach the playoffs four times in five years.

Now that the Bears have hired Nagy and the Oakland Raiders have hired Jon Gruden, the Lions are one of three current head coach openings along with the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants. This season, the Chiefs were 5th in total offensive yards and 6th in points scored with 25.9 points per game.

Nagy and Reid would script the first 15 plays the Chiefs would run in their upcoming game, and those 15 plays were mapped to probe the defense to test for what might work later in the game.

In Mitchell Trubisky, Nagy has a new project to develop. Nagy set more than 20 passing records as a Blue Hen, including the school record for passing yards (8,214) and touchdowns (58).

Trubisky finished his rookie season passing for 2,193 yards with a 59.4 completion percentage. Despite the numbers being average, this shows that Mahomes has potential to be a good quarterback in this league.

HPD: Houston sports reporter, Courtney Roland, found safe in Galleria area
Cops called her dad, Steve Roland, from a neighborhood Chick-Fil-A to state they'd discovered the missing 29-year-old writer. Roland's mother told KPRC she received a text from her daughter's phone, saying, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney".

Following his college career, which ended with an All-American season as a senior, Nagy wanted to go pro.

The only problem with Nagy is the coaches he will bring in as the assistants.

After three years of a veteran defensive-minded coach like Fox, a young, offensive-minded coach like Nagy should be a breath of fresh air for the Bears. Matt Nagy is 38 years old and he did a tremendous job changing up the Chiefs offense when they hit a mid season funk. Fangio and his defensive assistants laid the groundwork for future success on that side of the ball. His father Bill was a high coach at Elizabeth High School in New Jersey for 10 seasons.

NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero tweeted around 12:19 p.m. that Brad Childress, the Chiefs' assistant head coach, is retiring. Both teams were top-10 defenses.
