Wenger has been handed a three-match touchline ban and a £40,000 fine following a misconduct charge from the Football Association over comments he made about the refereeing of the game against West Brom.

Wenger spoke again prior to Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Chelsea, wherein Mesut Ozil featured despite his own problems.

Meanwhile, Wenger has hinted he will ring the changes after a busy schedule over the Christmas and the New Year.

"It's a possibility. It's his preferred position but at the moment I have [Sead] Kolasinac out, [Nacho] Monreal out and I don't have much choice on the left side unless I play another young boy in Josh Da Silva".

Wenger will serve his latest ban at Arsenal's FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, the first leg of the League Cup semifinal against Chelsea on January 10 and the league game against Bournemouth on January 14.

Given that the Reds are only eight points above the relegation zone, they are still in danger of suffering relegation to League One at the end of the season - although that is unlikely given the quality of players they have. Steve Bould will probably be calling the shots, but I don't expect that Arsenal will be too negatively affected by le absence of le boss.

The Gunners have won three of the last four FA Cups, including last year's 2-1 upset of Chelsea in the final.
