Clarksville-Montgomery County under Wind Chill Advisory tonight thru Tuesday

Very cold wind chills expected.

A Wind Chill Advisory will then be put into effect through Tuesday at noon due to wind chills ranging from 10 to 20 degrees below zero Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Many other towns in northeastern Montana had wind chill readings between -42 and -47 Monday morning. Wind chills are ranging from 20 to 30 degrees below zero Monday morning. Coldest wind chills will likely occur in far western and far southern sections of the Chicago area (grey-shaded area on the highlighted map - Advisory areas shaded in light-blue).

Bitterly cold start to the New Year
The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin and increase potential for hypothermia. A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values.

A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for several counties in central and northern in with wind chills expected to dip to -30 degrees overnight. We start off the new year with continued frigid temperatures. In this risky cold, keep in mind to dress in layers. In addition with these frigid temperatures and little recovery during the daytime hours this could cause problems for exposed plumbing pipes. Cover as much of your bare skin as possible to prevent frost bite.

Consider bringing any pets indoors and check on neighbors, elderly and homeless.
