Gas prices in Georgia continue to drop throughout the holiday season, going below $2.30 for the first time since August 30, according to AAA.
The price for gas in Florida is averaging $2.38 a gallon, the AAA reports.
He says travel volume has increased year-over-year for every major holiday weekend in 2017 - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Thanksgiving - and the agency is projecting the same for the year-end holiday period.
According to AAA Northeast's weekly survey, the price of regular unleaded gas fell to an average $2.52 per gallon in Rhode Island and $2.46 per gallon in MA. The average for Sunday was the same price according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 5,345 gas outlets in Ohio. "AAA forecasts a record-setting 97.4 million Americans will take a road trip during the final 10 days of the year". It was also 6 cents cheaper than the national average but notably more than Georgia's $2.29 average and Tennessee's average of $2.22.
A Little More Snow Friday; Modest Weekend Warm Up

So far this year, the highest average price in Florida was $2.73 on September 9 and the lowest was $2.13 on July 17.
Next is Hardin County at $2.15 followed by Hancock $2.181, Allen $2.182, Mercer and Putnam $2.197, Logan $2.22 and Van Wert County at $2.30. Florida gas prices are 13 cents less than a month ago, but 6 cents more than this time previous year, AAA reported.
Drivers can expect pump prices to continue to drop heading into the holiday season as supply strengthens and fall gasoline demand weakens.
