The Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Meghan Markle have set the date for their nuptials.

Prince William, the second in line to the British throne, would have had the May 19 date in his diary for a long time as it is the Football Association (FA) Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Claims that Her Majesty prefers the Suits star over the Duchess of Cambridge emerged after it was confirmed that Harry's fiancee, 36, would spend Christmas with the Royal Family in Sandringham.

Kensington Palace has now announced Prince Harry and bride-to-be Meghan Markle are to Wednesday at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in May.
