Protesters rally against net neutrality regulation rollback

The outcome of this vote could entirely change not only our Internet browsing experience, but our methods of communication entirely. If net neutrality ends, "we're paying more for less". It's what our children know, our students, our friends-it's how we have relished in the unlimited potential of the world wide web.

"If they take away net neutrality you will lose free speech", said Jane Redmond, a proponent of the current net neutrality policy.

Net neutrality is when internet service providers treat all data on the internet the same and not charge based on user, website, or content.

At Least 3 Dead In New Mexico High School Shooting
Authorities said that three people were killed, including the shooter, following a shooting at a New Mexico high school. The city of Aztec is located in the northwest corner of New Mexico and has a population of almost 7,000 people.

The leaflet, however, did not endorse net neutrality, which Verizon has publicly opposed, instead supporting the "lightly regulated environment" of the internet before the 2015 net neutrality rules were implemented. It only further propels the rich, while those on the lower end of the socio-economic ladder suffer.

Without net neutrality, these corporations could cut off access to websites they - or the United States government, which through the NSA has historically been tied to telecom companies - deem inappropriate for the public to read, just like in North Korea or China. Verizon is the company that challenged the Federal Communication Commission's decision to maintain net neutrality and the former workplace of the FCC's current Chairman. Apparently treating internet access like a utility has strangled innovation and imperiled freedom in these two short years. Mr. Owen expects that whatever happens, net neutrality will be ended. It affects social media, streaming, research, online business.

Activist groups were protesting at hundreds of Verizon stores throughout the country Thursday ahead of the FCC's vote on a rollback of net neutrality protections. You can also use the hashtag #StoptheFCC on Twitter and tag members of the House and Senate.
