Christmas parade set Monday, 100 entries expected downtown

Young and old alike lined the streets to watch dozens of floats, marching bands and, of course, a special visit from Santa Claus.

Saturday, Dec. 2: 65th Annual "Ye Olde Hometown Christmas Parade" Park Avenue will remain closed to through traffic from the prior evening's events and will reopen at the conclusion of the Annual Christmas Parade.

That will help ABATE gather toys for its annual toy store for needy children and youth in the community.

Things kick-off Friday with the city of Richmond Hill's annual Chili Cook Off from 6-9 p.m.at J.F. Gregory Park.

Hudson has also reportedly dropped the protective order she had been granted against Otunga earlier this month. Hudson, 36, and Otunga, 37, became engaged in 2008 - just shortly after David Jr . was born.

Organized by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, the parade is sure to be chock-full of people ready to begin celebrating Christmas.

Main Street Director Tim Moore said the parade is one of the biggest in the surrounding areas each year.

The Gillette Masonic Lodge also will offer free hot chocolate and hot cider from 4-6 p.m. for parade-goers at the lodge, 407 S. Gillette Ave. "Santa will show up on a fire truck at the end of the parade".
