'Captain Marvel': Jude Law Confirmed To Play Mar-Vell

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson) are directing Captain Marvel with Kevin Feige producing for the studio. The Oscar-winning Room actress was cast as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel last July.

Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson is also expected to appear in the film to reprise his role as Nick Fury along with Larson and (possibly) Law.

Different incarnations of Captain Marvel have been both male and female in the comics, but for the movies they are concentrating on Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident.

In the world of Marvel Comics, Danvers gains her powers after an incident that involves Kree technology exploding and infusing her with the powers of Mar-Vell.

Chargers rout Bills in Peterman's disastrous debut
The Bills responded back in a major way, as running back LeSean McCoy on two plays was responsible for Buffalo's tying touchdown. By now most Bills fans are aware that Buffalo's offense has been slow in getting into a rhythm at the start of games.

Ben Mendelson was previously reported as playing the movie's as-yet-unnamed villain.

That journey will be Brie Larson's in-road into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before her inevitable appearance in Joe and Anthony Russo's super-sized (and untitled) Avengers 4.

Details on Captain Marvel are still mostly under wraps, but we know it'll be an origin story set in the early 1990s. It is now unclear on what role Law will play. The British star just recently joined the Harry Potter franchise, signing in on Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as the film's young Albus Dumbledore. He is also still attached to star in a third "Sherlock Holmes" film, which Warner Bros.is now developing.

Captain Marvel is due out in theaters March 8, 2019.
