Gujarat elections 2017: EC to notify second phase of polls today

The filing of nominations for the polls began on November 14.

Two PAAS members were given tickets in the released list, while the Hardik Patel-led organisation had demanded 20 seats.

The two-phase election Gujarat will take place on December 9 and 14 while the results will be announced on December 18.

Days after Hardik Patel expressed satisfaction over the options given by the Congress, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leaders have reportedly given the party a 24-hour deadline to declare their stand on the reservation status for the community. The Congress campaign is being led by vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who is expected to be soon elected as the head of his party. The details of the Congress' proposal to the PAAS is not yet out.

Besides Congress leaders, the list also includes several leaders of Patidar community who were associated with the Patidar quota agitation.

Loomer also claimed that Twitter is making her account harder to find and said the platform is "trying to eradicate my presence". Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, meanwhile, said "we realized some time ago the system is broken and needs to be reconsidered".

"I have declared it earlier and I am declaring it today as well that I will not fight Gujarat assembly elections", Solanki said. The protesters pelted stones at the election office of Majura seat Congress candidate Ashok Kothari near Ghod Dod Road.

Vasoya got the ticket for Dhoraji while Thummar got for Junagadh seat. Negotiations are on between the Congress and PAAS.

Bharatsinh Solanki, the Gujarat Congress president, has decided not to contest the 2017 state assembly elections, while his party is fighting its most prestigious elections.

To a question related to tickets, Bamania said that there was discussion on ticket. "They may meet tomorrow and resolve all issues".

How can we expect to be heard when our questions are also not being answered by Congress?"PAAS leader Dinesh Patel said". Solanki was quick to point out that the list carrying his signature was fake as Congress releases its candidates from Delhi after being cleared by the party's Central Election Committee.
